About Frogmore Bottom Smallholding

Hello and welcome! We are a family-run 2 acre smallholding in Hertfordshire. We currently have a friendly flock of hens for eggs and keep bees for honey. We periodically keep pigs and sheep. We also grow our own vegetables (trying new things each year) and produce our own apple juice from our small orchard.

We have a small selection of our produce available which you can see in our online shop. We don’t do deliveries so you’ll have to come and find us to collect your produce. Get in touch for details.

Self Sufficiency

We have always liked the idea of becoming a self-sufficient family. We try to grow our own whenever we can and enjoy the fruits of our labour.

Buy our produce

Visit our online store – https://store.frogmorebottom.co.uk/ – to see what produce we currently have available.

We don’t offer online deliveries just yet (most of what we sell is pretty perishable – and I’m not convinced eggs would survive the post without getting scrambled!). Chances are you’ve already found us via the little egg hut on our front driveway!

Stuff we get up to - good and bad experiences!

Chickens

Our lovely flock of chickens are usually allowed to free-roam around our smallholding and provide some beautiful eggs. Currently we have Warrens, Speckled, Light Sussex, Dark Sussex, Bluebells, Black Rocks, Emerald, a very handsome Bantum Buff Wyandotte cockeral and our recently hatched Bantum Buff Wyandotte / Dark Sussex cross cockeral. They all get on very well so we have a very happy flock.

Pigs

We LOVE pigs! They are really good fun and fairly easy to keep with good care. In the past, we have had a variety of rare breeds including Oxford Sandy Blacks, Berkshires and Saddlebacks.
